Scoped historical coverage
Historical coverage is confirmed by board and date range for each engagement. Ongoing public conversations can be included where agreed.
Defined exports
Exports are scoped to your boards, periods and filters. Delivery format, processing and update cadence are agreed during scoping.
Thread context and reply links
Posts are delivered with thread metadata and explicit reply anchors where the source provides them. Not every conversational relationship is captured.
Operator licensing
Licensed directly by the operator of 5channel, with documentation to support the buyer's diligence review. This does not substitute for your own compliance assessment.
JSONL and Parquet
Defined exports in JSONL or Parquet are the standard delivery formats. Other formats and delivery methods can be agreed per engagement.
Why license from the operator
Defined scope.
A scoped export specifies boards, date ranges, fields and permitted uses. Crawled copies may omit context, vary in structure, or lack agreed update and deletion handling.
Documentation.
A written licence with the source operator provides a clear counterparty and chain of custody. Buyers use this documentation to support their own diligence — it is not a substitute for legal review.
Separate permissions.
Model training, evaluation, internal analytics and public retrieval or display are defined separately in the agreement. Licensed access makes those boundaries explicit.
What a scoped export can contain
5channel is a large-scale Japanese anonymous discussion board organised into topical boards, each containing threads of sequentially numbered posts. A licensed export comprises public post records together with structural metadata agreed for that scope.
Exports can be dense in informal spoken-register Japanese, internet slang, kaomoji and multi-party threaded exchange. Suitability and incremental value are assessed during evaluation.
